The last two weeks has seen us undertake the refresh of a corporate logo along with the design and programming of a new website in record timing. We were approached by Walter Gray, a firm of solicitors based on the Isle of Wight, to assist them with the creation of a new website that would not only be compliant from a GDPR and responsive nature but fit with the SRA’s new regulations relating to pricing transparency (which necessitated the speedy turnaround)
The studio has been keeping a close eye on the making of this new history of graphic design feature from Briar Levit. It is now available to rent or buy from vimeo, the team cant wait to get stuck in and refresh their memories of Letraset, paste up & matchprints!
Last week we built two exhibition stands at the Solids Show in Dortmund for our clients Rotex and Vortex. The stands had been designed and created at our offices in Chester and then -deleted- transported to Dortmund, along with our clients industrial screening demonstrator machines, loading spout and a series of stainless-steel valves used in solids processing. These were transported ready for the show using one of our dedicated exhibition vehicles. This journey was not without its challenges with our team facing the issue of a blow out on one of the wheels of the exhibition trailer on the way there - this was no problem for our fantastic team though and with a quick tyre change they were soon on their way, arriving in plenty of time for the stand build and set up. This particular exhibition stand makes use of an aluminium frame and tension graphics - we love the versatility they provide from a design perspective (no awkward joins) and also a practical perspective as they are so lightweight and easily transportable.
If you would like to discuss your exhibition presence and stand requirements, please get in touch.
Our long-standing client Redrow Homes have been working relentlessly over the past several weeks in preparation for their 100,000th completion at Regents Grange, Chester.
On the 18th October 2018, Steve Morgan, Redrow’s Founder and Chairman handed over the 100,000th home to be completed since Redrow was established in 1974 to first time buyers, Tom and Claire Culshaw. With such a landmark celebration, Redrow drafted in Staunton Rook as an extension of their own marketing team for support with the event and we couldn’t be happier to help.
Whether we are talking about a small company or a big corporation, the brand and the corporate identity are two of the most important things to consider, they are the first point of reference for any potential customers. The modern logo has to work harder than ever before, they have to resize to fit a variety a screen sizes, older logos won’t have been designed with responsive websites in mind and are likely to suffer. Mobile devices can range from a medium sized display like an ipad, a smaller display like a mobile phone, down to a smartwatch. Is your logo compatible with all these devices?
This month has been a busy one for our events team, with 3 separate European shows in the space of two weeks they have certainly been kept on their toes, yet we are pleased to report that all client exhibitions were delivered and assembled on time and to our high-quality standards.
This week it was announced that Google will be shutting down its Google+ platform in the upcoming months. Some analysts within the industry were unsurprised and stated that closure of the failing platform had been on the cards for a while whilst others viewed it as a crushing blow.
Google launched the platform back in 2011, its answer to rival Facebook, however despite pouring huge resources into it and forcing people to use it as a way to sign into other services such as YouTube, it didn’t take off in the way that had been hoped and user uptake was low. Google soon changed tact and it began its demise. The final nail in the coffin came with the discovery (and subsequent non-disclosure) of a security breach in March which left private profile data of up to 500,000 users vulnerable and as a result Google took the decision to announce the decommission of Google+ as with 90% of users sessions lasting less than 5 seconds it deemed the platform not worth the work required to secure and maintain the platform.
What does this mean for you? Anyone relying purely on Google+ will need to look to alternative platforms in the future such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn depending upon suitability, nature of use and preference. We will be monitoring the shut down and advising clients to remove the Google+ social icon from their marketing communications, demonstrating they are aware of developments and negating the possibility of dead links on their websites in the future. If you need assistance with your social media marketing, website or any other digital or offline marketing, please contact us.

We were recently contacted by a client looking for assistance with their new start up business – A Bubble Tea and Noodle Bar in Finsbury Park, London. A true testament to the strength that optimising your website can bring to your business – the client found us via a Google organic search and upon contacting us and discussing her requirements was confident we could deliver. We provided her with an initial start-up marketing package comprising of brand development, the creation of a leaflet and menu, a website and assistance with setting up her Facebook business page all ready for her launch which took place this weekend. A fantastic project to work on, we are extremely pleased with the results and look forward to assisting Dezato in growing their customer base.
We don’t just offer full marketing packages we can also assist you with ad-hoc requirements such as branded material to promote your business! We recently had great fun creating some stand out promotional clothing for our Chester based client Mama K’s, incorporating the iconic Mama K’s logo that we previously created for them into baseball shirts, jackets, caps, beanies and aprons.
Look out for the Mama K’s crew when they are out and about delivering – they will be easy to spot.

Growing up, I was always drawing anything and everything. Then one day in school, I got told my art coursework was pretty good and would I like to come to a club on a Tuesday evening after school to do extra drawing. When it came down to picking my school options, art was number one on the list. I then went on to do A Level Art and this is where I got more interested in the graphic design side.
The mobile-first index is Google's latest step in its continual journey towards making the web increasingly mobile friendly and allowing marketers to easily monitor behaviour trends. Almost one year ago Google announced that they would be experimenting with the new mobile-first indexing. Since then there have been various updates from Google in relation to the development of web search.
Virtual reality was very much a vision of the future less than 100 years ago. However, virtual reality has now been intensely developed and having an immersive experience is becoming very popular. Virtual reality is widely accessible and marketers are finding it an increasingly valuable tool when pitching their businesses, products or services at business exhibitions.

One of the biggest changes in internet search over the past few years has to be the emergence and rise of voice search. With devices and tools such as Siri, OK Google and Amazon Alexa becoming widely available, more and more people are utilising the power of their voice to perform day-to-day tasks such as doing internet searches, sending text messages, making a call or even doing their weekly grocery shop. At this point in time, the smartphone has to be the most popular way this type of activity is being performed, with over 2.1 billion people owning the devices and the use of voice search doubling year on year with it anticipated to power more than 50% of searches by 2020.
